Many have long wondered the truth—and it is available to us as clear today as it was thousands and thousands of years ago—impressed on ancient clay tablets… the first true writings at the inception of modern human civilization—some of which extend back to the time of the first societies, the first cities, the first systems, the first…well… everything. And while humanity has had a turbulent history ever since, what has suffered the most in all of this time is precisely the retention, understanding and basic ability to know the truth about the origins of everything. How things came to be what they are today is not as important as a return to the source and rediscovery of the original knowledge—the truth as it was laid out before the convolution of further systems and cultural fragmentation.
Where does one turn for answers?
And are there answers for us?
Sometimes the desire to “know” is not tempered with wisdom and discernment. We have all seen the types that have allowed the pursuit of esoteric knowledge to drive them “crazy”—so vastly interrupting and impeding any sense of “normalcy” that they either fall by the wayside or worse, become forever lost to a personal roller-coaster ride—closed tracked and cyclic, providing perpetual stimulation and the illusion of movement… but what true enlightenment? Where is the ascension if the movement is not perpetually upward—unfolding laden potentials that are not restricted to just what we can conceive of today. We begin to allow ourselves the freedom to achieve these states of higher awareness by acquiring and maintaining “true knowledge” as we process our experience of reality and what is possible.
Fortunately, for the past decade, a group called the “Mardukite Chamberlains” (or “Mardukite Research Organization”) has refined a collection of the most ancient writings on the planet, presented as an amazing source book of renderings drawn from ancient Mesopotamia—the land of Sumerians, Akkadians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Chaldeans—and its treasure trove of clay cuneiform tablets, completely translated, beautifully presented and accessible for all to see! What’s more, this amazing book—NECRONOMICON: THE ANUNNAKI BIBLE edited by Joshua Free—has been carefully arranged and developed by those who actually take these matters seriously, not simply an academic interest or scholarly career. The etheric, astral and intellectual gateways that these materials unlock is far beyond what the written word can even express, and must instead be experienced first hand. Will you join us in knowing?

RETURN TO THE SOURCE — to traditions and spirito-mystical systems of the Middle East, those born from ancient Sumerians and afterward extended to interpretation by Chaldeo-Babylonians, Akkadians, Assyrians and even Egyptians. The spread of this tradition across Europe led to even more fanciful and colorful realizations of the primary Olympian mythology first realized in ancient Mesopotamia!
Discover the secrets for yourself in SUMERIAN RELIGION by Joshua Free — The most critically acclaimed and bestselling materials from the Mardukite Research Organization now available in one volume! A master compilation of mythological and religious exploration into the heart of ancient Mesopotamian Mysteries, this easy-to-read post-modern anthology illuminates the ancient world using revolutionary teachings and source materials in a way never before seen… for thousands of years!
The nature, identity and relationship of ancient Mesopotamian Anunnaki “gods” – those of the Sumerians and Babylonians – is very important, not only for understanding the literally ‘Mardukite’ work, but also for possessing a greater ‘wideangle’ vision of life, reality and existence – not to mention understanding your own place and legacy within it.
All of the original and later work of the ‘Mardukites’, all of these other authors and producers and their theories and explanations of things past, present and even future – they are all dependent on a clear and concise basis of understanding and comprehension of the very root element that it all surrounds – the very beings that made all of this history and human development possible. For without this key knowledge, and an objective one-to-one correlation of this knowledge with reality, all of the other research, reading and even the experience of life and reality will be undertaken ‘out of context’ of what is Truth.
The meaning and innate desire to pursue truth, particularly what has been known as the Secret of the Ages, is no less obvious in the realm of science and academia then it is in the world of the occultist. Those who have been dubbed ‘occultists’ or ‘esotericists’ are not the only ones interested in SUMERIAN RELIGION, nor are they even the original ones. Only the methodologies and intentions differ. And yet again – all is connected.
The recovery of the truth of mankind’s past is paramount to the fate of humanity’s future. Thus, it should could by no surprise that the geographic terrain of its origins has been the victim of unyielding war and suffering for thousands of years – further enshrouding those unveiling efforts with a measure of hesitation and doubt painted by political opinions of the modern Middle East, and for our purposes, what the academicians have called the Ancient Near East. Relative power within the modern world and human society is a ‘fleeting glamour’ and wholly representative; yet, if anything on the planet can be said to represent ineffable true worldly power by the ‘sword’ and ‘shield’ of truth, it is from those objects of ancient knowledge that come to us from this place.
SUMERIAN RELIGION by Joshua Free : Arriving on the surface world from the underground – an amazing insight into the Anunnaki ‘alien gods’ and the establishment of human civilization famously accounted by the Sumerian and Babylonian traditions. Prolific writer, Joshua Free, presents this topic such as the modern world has never before had access to, developed from the revolutionary work conducted by the next generation of Seekers actively using a revival Anunnaki tradition in the present day. SUMERIAN RELIGION is not merely the presentation of dry academic renderings of obscure tablets; this book will take you on a progressive journey that is just as relevant and critical today as it was thousands of years ago! Uncover the mysteries that lay hidden in ancient Sumer, with a message so relevant today, it is no wonder it became the greatest kept secret of Babylon!
“The quest toward the uncovering of ancient arts has a fundamental theme in mind: the establishment of true knowledge concerning the powers these arts were dedicated to and then a working relationship with these powers. This is the true wizard’s art, who pleases the ‘gods’ in such a way as to attain favors, and does not waste time provoking malignant spirits to their circle, fearing for their lives at the mistaken utterance of an incantation. The true and ancient system is nothing like this.“

5th Anniversary Third Edition
Celebrating its ‘5th Anniversary’, SUMERIAN RELIGION (LIBER 50) has become an instant underground classic with thousands of copies in circulation since its exclusive debut with the Mardukite Chamberlains on Beltane: May 1, 2010. Now, five years later, SUMERIAN RELIGION (LIBER 50) remains the most critically acclaimed and widely circulated bestseller from the Mardukite Research Organization!
The Sumerian and Babylonian traditions, Mardukites define as the Anunnaki Legacy, has influenced the planet, the cultivation of humanity and civilization more than any other aspect of history! Only recently, within the past couple decades, do we find awareness of these topics as common knowledge. Along with this influx is an increased amount of “fluff” and “bull-$#!%” created and propagated by many who caught this wave: they either actually believe they do know something or else are intentionally misrepresenting and misguiding the masses with misinformation now widely rampant in modern spiritual revivals, New Age literature and on the internet.
5th Anniversary Third Edition
SUMERIAN RELIGION providing amazing insight into the reality of the ancient Anunnaki — beings that Sumerians revered for establishing the systems of human civilization.

Prolific writer — Joshua Free — presents the combined lore and records of the Anunnaki in a cohesive picture… such as the modern world has never before had access to.
SUMERIAN RELIGON (LIBER 50) is developed from revolutionary work conducted by modern NexGen Seekers actively and presently using a revival Anunnaki system.
This 5th Anniversary Third Edition of SUMERIAN RELIGION provides new annotations and revisions, including an expanded appendix.

5th Anniversary Third Edition
‘Eco-Editions’ are formatted and designed for the best economical and ecological efficiency! The new 2015 Third Editions of SUMERIAN RELIGION and BOOK OF ELVEN-FAERIE are the first ‘Eco-Editions’ released.
Originally released privately underground in 2010 for the Mardukite Chamberlains as “Liber 50“, this amazing tome now stands alone — unique as it is practical — revealing the nature, origins and traditions of Anunnaki “gods” of Mesopotamia (the figures who lead the mythology of ancient Sumerians, Babylonians, Akkadians, Chaldeans, Assyrians, Hittites, etc.), which the public has previously only known through obscure communications: either insubstantial or overly-academic.
Uncover the mysteries that lay hidden in ancient Mesopotamia in SUMERIAN RELIGION, with a message so relevant today, it is no wonder it became the greatest kept secret of Babylon!
“As above, so below; On earth, as it is in heaven.”(1)
Mesopotamian society remains scholarly recognized as the “cradle of civilization” for good reason. While many prehistoric and antediluvian remains are found prior to the invention of cuneiform script writing, it is the Sumerians who cultivated “World Order” for the first time in the history of modern humans, forever changing consciousness on the planet in accordance with it.
According to ancient Sumerian and Babylonian religious and spiritual texts, this “World Order” came from ‘above’ and was the decree of the ‘gods’ – the Anunnaki – a specifically unique group of beings appearing early on the scene of modern human evolution (even credited with accelerating the same). Simultaneously, the Anunnaki teach and install new ‘governing systems’ into their “World Order” – something that transformed the ancient world from the loosely tribal former standard of semi-nomadic hunter-gathering into the urbanization that has been the mindset of humanity ever since.
an-bala ki-bala an-ba ki an-ba(2) ‘He who crosses the heavens, crosses the earth;
He who apportions the heavens, has apportioned the earth.’(3)
Language in this verse remained cryptic and elusive to modern cuneiform transcribers in spite of its simplicity. The “reality” cues encompass all that exists in the Universe – both the heavens ‘an‘ and the earth ‘ki‘. When used separately these words indicate what is above and beneath us in the manifestation that we experience as reality. Likewise they could even be interpreted to represent all that is present, both seen or “physical” (ki) and unseen or “divine” (an). In fact the Sumerian word for all that there is in existence (or “Universe”) is actually the compound segment ‘an-ki‘.
SUMERIAN VOCABULARY an – heavens, sky / god, star, planets(4) bala – cross [-over], rotate(4) ki – earth(4) ba – allot, divide, appropriate(4)
Cuneiform tablets reveal that the Anunnaki measured, appropriated and formed their “order” of things in the Universe, responsibility became divided between what is “above” versus what is “below.” Incidentally, they even drew lots.
The Elder Gods of the Anunnaki came together.
With lots they decided the fate of the world.
ANU – the “Father of the Heavens” – would remain in heaven.
ENLIL – the “Royal Heir” – was given the command of the airs.
EA [ENKI] was given control of the “Waters of Life” on earth.(5)
For thousands of years, mystics have sought to relay the simple message that there is an energetic interconnectedness to all things – heaven and earth; seen and unseen. It is the observation and direct experience of this wholeness-factor that actually gives the mystic, magician, seer or sorcerer what appear to be “supernatural” knowledge and abilities, when nothing could be further from the truth – it is all quite “natural.”(6)
(1) Joshua Free’s translation provided for the “Sumerian Wisdom II” project, a forthcoming sequel to “Sumerian Wisdom & Anunnaki Prophecies: The Book of Sajaha the Seer“ (edited by Joshua Free) for Mardukite Truth Seeker Press. Cuneiform tablet entries chosen for the edition represent a clear preservation of Sumerian language proverbs written by scribes during the Old Babylonian period.
(2) Original transliteration of the “Sumerian Proverbs” collection excavated from Nippur by the University Museum of the University of Pennsylvania. Supplemental notes suggest a corrective reading: an-e-bala ki-bala an-ba ki (an)-ba.
(3) Translation by Edmund Gordon from the “Sumerian Proverbs” museum monograph. The meaning “eludes” the original editor and Gordon simply states that the “allusion seems to be one of the gods.”
(4) Sumerian vocabulary derived from the Mardukite handbook: “Secrets of Sumerian Language“ edited by Joshua Free.
(5) Excerpted from tablet collections found in the “Necronomicon Anunnaki Bible” edited by Joshua Free. Earlier pre-Babylonian (Sumerian) cuneiform ‘genesis’-tablets often begin with the lines: When after AN carried away the heavens. When after ENLIL carried away the earth.
(6) The same type of ‘Divine’ sanction became the foundation of the Catholic Church with the statement “what you decree on earth will be held in heaven,” etc. Other world religions have adopted similar statutes to self-validate their beliefs.
“What the mind believes, the spirit reinforces.”(1)
When describing experiences of reality and the manifestations of the physical world, transhumanist Robert Anton Wilson once wrote that “whatever the thinker thinks, the prover proves.” For thousands of years mystics have urged us that our “energy flows where attention goes,” that “belief imparts reality,” and we certainly cannot dismiss how the mind directly affects how we process our day-to-day experiences. Our lives become energetically intertwined into where we put our focus and what we value most. We are what we think we are and life becomes what we make of it – for better or worse.
da-ga nam-ku-zu d-Lamma a bi-ib-gar (2)
‘(When) reason was perserverant, the guardian-genius reinforced it.‘ (3)
The original transliteration of this proverb invokes the ‘d-Lammasu‘ of Mesopotamian tradition – the prototype of the now familiar “guardian angel.” Later examinations of similar tablet series revealed the word ‘an-Kal‘ in its stead, implying “what is most highly valued.” In either case, when the mind makes solid some bit of reasoning, the observation and personal experience of reality collapses to this belief. Such a paradigm or “mind-set” becomes the static program that interprets all of the sensations and data flowing in from a seemingly separate world external to us. What we envision, we can also create and manifest in reality. When we do this, the “God-part” or “higher genius” of our being becomes awakened and active to ‘reinforce’ our will.(6)
SUMERIAN VOCABULARY da-ga – perseverance(?), to be ubiquitous (4) nam-ku-zu – cleverness, wisdom, reason (4) d-/dingir – ‘prefix determinative’ / god, star, planet, spirit (5) Lamma – ‘guardian spirit’, ‘higher genius’ / Lammasu spirit
(an-)Kal – to be valued, rare or precious (5) bi-ib-gar – literally: “placed its strength (or ‘arm’) upon it” (4) ib-da-na – lay down with, to be mated with (4)
Alternative interpretations emerged from newer transliterations provided by Thorkild Jacobsen in his notes for the 1959 edition of “Sumerian Proverbs.” His translation of da-ga comes from the root ‘dag‘ – “to move about here or there” or “to be ubiquitous.” He goes on to translate ‘dag-a‘ as a person who is “roaming, vagrant or homeless” and when combined with his translation of ‘ib-da-na‘, the proverb is restated as: “A wise man makes the homeless welcome, and they are able to lie down.” In this light, given what is known in our ‘Sumerian Vocabulary‘, the proverb could also read: “a resourceful traveler values rest” or “the wise wanderer’s spirit finds rest.”
(1) Translation by Joshua Free for the “Sumerian Wisdom II” materials, a forthcoming sequel to “Sumerian Wisdom & Anunnaki Prophecies: The Book of Sajaha the Seer“ edited by Joshua Free for the Mardukite Truth Seeker Press. Select tablets for this edition seek to preserve and study Sumerian language proverbs in cuneiform script during the Old Babylonian period.
(2) Original transliteration from the Nippur “Sumerian Proverbs” collection excavated by the University Museum of the University of Pennsylvania. The updated version (1959) with supplemental notes by Thorkild Jacobsen offers the replacement line: da-ga nam-ku-zu an-Kal ib-da-na.
(3) Translation by Edmund Gordon from the “Sumerian Proverbs” museum monograph. A corrected translation appears in lieu of the updated replacement line: “The perserverant person values reason (and thereby) can rest.”
(4) Sumerian vocabulary supplemental from the ‘Sumerian Glossary and Concordance’ for the Edmund Gordon “Sumerian Proverbs” museum monograph.
(5) Sumerian vocabulary derived from the Mardukite handbook: “Secrets of Sumerian Language“ edited by Joshua Free.
(6) Edmund Gordon notes his interpretation of the original transliteration as: ”God helps them that help themselves” or what “man proposes, God disposes.”
3. “When disaster is self-made, no man can interfere.” (1)
Mesopotamian religious and spiritual traditions carry a uniquely dynamic vision of ‘divinity’ and ‘spirit’. As explained in “Secrets of Sumerian Language,” the cuneiform ‘cross’ sign ‘dingir‘ (Akk., ilu ) that prefixes divine names of the Anunnaki pantheon also applies to ‘celestial’ or ‘heavenly’ bodies – “planets” and “stars” symbolic and representative of the Anunnaki pantheon thought to hold precedence over mundane affairs. The belief literally stood that all physical worldly manifestations and outcomes on earth (in the material world) possessed an ‘unseen’ influence of “perturbation” by ‘divine’ and ‘otherworldly’ energetic currents (from the ‘spiritual’ or metaphysical world). Initial correspondents of these currents between individual Anunnaki and their associated planets. Additional systematization of these concepts led the Babylonian inception of astrological traditions still observed today.
nig-ku-lam-ma dingir-ra-na-ka su—tu-tu nu-ub-zu (2)
‘The destruction is from his own (personal) god; he knows no savior.’ (3)
Literal translation of dingir-ra(-na-ka) indicates that the aforementioned disaster comes from “one’s own personal god.” While ancient Sumerian and Babylonian spirituality did incorporate personal tribal or familial (ancestral) ‘deities’ and “guardian spirits,” such are generally related to lesser spirits: the sedu (spirits) and lamassu (guardians) that make greater appearances in the religion and magical traditions of the (post-Sumerian) Babylonian (Akkadian and Assyrian) Mardukites. Modern interpreters of this line read it literally and translate the sentiment as: when a man loses his favor with his personal deity then he has no one to appeal for him to the higher powers. (6)
In “Secrets of Sumerian Language,” the distinct philosophical difference in Mesopotamia between ‘fate’ and ‘destiny’ is described based on its cuneiform usage. A person’s life has a ‘destination’ or ‘destiny’ that is fixed “in the heavens” by the gods or ‘stars’ in “zones of influence.” In comparison, a person’s ‘fate’ refers to subconsciously chosen environmental conditions that comprise a life-path that is not necessarily “fixed” while they are on their way to a destination that is fixed. In other words, it is the ‘route’ one travels on their way to a final ‘destiny’. Whether decreed by one’s own ‘personal god’ or ‘personal star’ or even erupting from one’s own “god-self,” this cuneiform line seems to indicate a ‘thing’ that is unavoidable or cannot be prevented by the person themselves or another human: such a thing on earth has been decreed in the heavens. (3)
SUMERIAN VOCABULARY
[nig-] – ‘abstract’ / a thing (7) ku-lam-ma – destruction (4); a thing forgotten (8) dingir – ‘prefix determinative’ / god, star, planet, spirit (5) su—tu-tu nu-ub-zu – it cannot be prevented; or ‘avoided’ (9)
Original analysis of the original Sumerian Proverb tablet series occurred using an elementary understanding of cuneiform script and Mesopotamian languages. Thorkild Jacobsen replaced Gordon’s original translation of su—tu-tu as “savior,” noting the Akkadian equivalent (‘ekimu‘) implies to “rob, steal or take away” (and not “to save”), meaning that the disaster/destruction that has been brought on into one’s life cannot be “touched” or “interfered” with and is thus “inevitable.” This more advanced rendering reveals a much deeper understanding of the ideal that what a person is due, they are due and a person receiving the harsh lessons of their life is unable to be assisted or coddled through it by any other power – they must simply experience, endure and, hopefully, survive the course with lessons learned. Quite simply, no one can interfere and safeguard against a person hellbent on making their own mistakes. (3)(9)
(1) Translation of Sumerian Proverb tablet by Joshua Free for “Sumerian Wisdom II“ (tentative title) materials, the forthcoming sequel to “Sumerian Wisdom & Anunnaki Prophecies: The Book of Sajaha the Seer“ edited by Joshua Free. These tablets attempt to preserve Sumerian language proverbs in cuneiform script during the Old Babylonian period.
(2) Derived from the original “Sumerian Proverbs” collection found in Nippur by the University Museum of the University of Pennsylvania. Some transliterations omit the ‘-na-ka‘.
(3) Original translation provided in the “Sumerian Proverbs” museum monograph by Edmund Gordon. The translation and interpretation has since been updated by Thorkild Jacobsen in the 1959 edition notes to the monograph: “–the disaster is of his own making (lit., ‘is of his personal god’), it brooks no interference.” His interpretation warns that “against self-imposed burdens, self-willed destruction, others can do very little.”
(4) Vocabulary supplement derived from the ‘Sumerian Glossary and Concordance’ for the Gordon “Sumerian Proverbs” museum monograph.
(5) Vocabulary inclusion of student translation is derived from the Mardukite handbook: “Secrets of Sumerian Language“ edited by Joshua Free.
(6) Edmund Gordon explains his interpretation: “When a man’s personal god is against him, he has no one to intercede on his behalf before the assembly of the gods.”
(7) The Sumerian cuneiform prefixing sign ‘nig‘ – found at the start of lines throughout this particular series of ‘proverb’ tablets – indicates an attached statement regarding a ‘thing’ as an “abstraction” (concept) rather than always to be treated as a literal “thing” (object).
(8) An alternate translation to nig-ku-lam-ma is offered in the collected notes and revised additions of the 1959 edition by Edmund Gordon as: “a thing which has been forgotten.”
(9) Alternatively suggested by Joshua Free as “no one can prevent” or “no one can avoid” from the literal Akkadian ekimu – “none may ‘steal’ away.”
“Whereas Sargon seems to have relied upon his power and his terror tactics to keep people under control, Hammurabi presents himself almost like a modern politician in that he wants to be loved; he wants the people to like him; he’s going to set up laws that will protect them, not laws that will terrify them or force them into submission.” ~ Amanda Podany, Cali State Polytech, Pomona, CA
[This mardukite.com blog is officially extracted from Liber-51/52, available as the standalone title SUMERIAN RELIGION II, in the Liber-50/51/52 anthology MESOPOTAMIAN RELIGION or the new exclusive economical Mardukite Year-2 anthology GATES OF THE NECRONOMICON edited by Joshua Free.]
In the post-Sumerian “Mardukite” era of MESOPOTAMIA, the traditions and systems of the Anunnaki were sealed under MARDUK, heir of ENKI. During the shift to the Age of Aries – the sign of MARDUK, represented by the Ram – religion, spirituality and the global reality experience became fueled by ‘divine politics’.
The famous ‘creation stories’ and ‘mystical definitions’ (that serve as the basis for future traditions and ‘societal reality systems’) were forged onto tablets of propaganda supporting the ‘Babylonian‘ paradigm by the priestscribes of (‘led by’ or ‘dedicated to’) NABU, heir of MARDUK. Figures that appear central to the infrastructure of MARDUKITE BABYLONIAN systems are the younger generations of Anunnaki.
The BABYLONIAN tradition is a direct evolution of the earlier Sumerian legacy – it is the progression of a particular Anunnaki family in MESOPOTAMIA and not simply the assimilation or recreation bring applied to a similar pantheon elsewhere (as we see in cases of later developed ‘classical mythoi’, which simply regurgitate to us the ancient themes with new names. After the vision put forth by Sargon, King Hammurabi (c. 1790 B.C. by the short chronology) is the next most famous and contributory ruler toward a Mardukite Babylon in MESOPOTAMIA.
In homage of MARDUK‘s own legacy put forth in the ENUMA ELIS (‘Epic of Creation‘), King Hammurabi reconstructed the ziggurat temple-shrine earth-home of the Anunnaki godMARDUK, the Esagila – built in even more ancient times to establish a Mardukite ‘World Order’ prematurely during MESOPOTAMIA‘s evolution – an effort brought down as an archetype of the ‘Tower of Babel’ ziggurat by the Enlilite Sumerians.
The region of Babylon experienced human occupation since at least the Third Millennium B.C. (since at least the period of Sargon of Akkad c. 23rd century B.C.). That being said, the independent BABYLONIAN city-state of the “Mardukite” legacy we know today is launched primarily through the efforts of the Amorite Dynasty; specifically Hammurabi, who goes on to replace the former Enlilite Sumerian tradition with a complete MARDUKITE BABYLONIAN re-write.
Sumerian language is denationalized and scribes record all literature in the “new” Akkadian-Old Babylonian that accounts for the majority of pre-Assyriancuneiform tablets found and translated today. The BABYLONIANcuneiform tablet literary revolution by the priest-scribes of NABU made way for the means to establish a firmly rooted evolution of the Anunnaki tradition emphasizing MARDUK as the supreme ‘King of the Gods‘ and completely replacing the previously accepted SUMERIAN paradigm.
King Hammurabi is considered the greatest empire engineer since Sargon of Akkad. Efforts conducted over the forty-three year period of his reign allowed a centralized ‘world government’ of BABYLON to form that not only served the people on an emotional, cultural and religio-spiritual level, but also reaching energetic and monetary heights in global wealth, power and influence.
Ruling in honor of MARDUK allowed King Hammurabi to bring BABYLON to fruition with cultural and spiritual heights not visited again for at least one-thousand years when over a millennium later, the Neo-Babylonian era of Nebuchadnezzar II. Of the many conventions introduced to human civilization from BABYLON, the Hammurabic legal system is one of the most significant to note – made popular in consciousness as the “eye for an eye” methodology known as the CODE OF HAMMURABI. Although tyrannical and draconian penalties are the most frequently cited examples of the ‘Code’, the details of 282 laws established the citizen rights, property rights, social rights and even feminine equality rights in addition to the creation of a “class” system.
The CODE OF HAMMURABI, by its own account, does not originate from the mind of King Hammurabi himself, who considered himself merely a catalyst for the reign and power of something ‘greater’ than himself: that of the patron deity, MARDUK. The ‘Code’ or Law of Hammurabi, is in fact what the modern MARDUKITE CHAMBERLAINS movement dubbed the “Book of the Law of Marduk.”
“Through Marduk, the power of Eridu – incantation-prayer – was taught to the scribes of Nabu and the Mardukite Priests, who were taught to attract and compel the ‘gods’ in the name of Marduk, always incanting the word-formula of the highest order: Nabu invoked by way of the name of Marduk; Marduk invoked by way of the name of Enki, Our Father, who in turn would invoke by the name of Anu – and so was born the concept of magical hierarchies, an ideal that was convoluted and obscured when employed later (during the Middle Ages and such), particularly distorted by the Judeo-Christian paradigm as evident in many popular grimoires…” ~ NABU, Joshua Free, The Book of Marduk by Nabu (2010)

Many version of Erudite magic may be found through the Mesopotamian ‘spiritual’ (or ‘magical’) cuneiform texts. The incantation tablets from the ‘Mardukite’ Babylonian Anunnaki tradition, specifically those used and forged by scribe-priests of the Order of Nabu, are invoked from the ‘perspective’ (authority) of NABU – as was the tradition learned verbatim from MARDUK. In both scholarly and esoteric ‘Mardukite’ texts, the ‘Opening Ritual’ of Mardukite magic is derived from the source titled: “The Incantation of Eridu.”
Perhaps the most fundamental ‘formula’ of the magical system in Babylonia, if there is one, goes back to the heart of the system born of the scribe-priests and the figures who brought this system about – NABU and the appropriation of his father, MARDUK as the chief director. This is the spiritual acknowledgment alluded to by the Incantation of Eridu, also known as the ‘Incantation of the Priest of Eridu’ (Eridu being the shrine-home of ENKI), or the ‘Incantation of the Deep‘, which simply refers to another name for the far-away abode of ENKI near the Persian Gulf.
Ceremonial activation of the ‘birthright’ of Anunnaki power sealed in Eridu (and then in Babylon) allows a practitioner to assume the representative form of the “Priest of Eridu,” a title first bestowed
upon MARDUK by ENKI, then passed onto NABU during the solidification and heights of the Babylonian era. The esoteric key in effect here is that the priest conducts the incantations (ceremony) as the embodiment of an intermediary ‘messenger’ deity – the original semantic of the word “invocation” – thereby directing the cosmic (world) order, in essence, first hand.
In short – the magician approaches his deity as himself – a servant priest – and petitions to assume the godform, whereby he continues the ceremony as a divine representation of the god ‘invoked’. An almost identical principle appears within Semitic mysticism and the Judeo-Kabbalah – an excellent example being found in contemporary Catholicism, when the priest ‘assumes the Christ-form‘ to effectively perform a perceived alchemical transmutation on the sacramental bread and wine, conducted as a representative of Jesus on earth, in imitation (dramatic reenactment) of the ‘Last Supper’.
In the ‘Mardukite’ system observed in Babylon, the god being invoked is MARDUK. This is affirmed with the priest’s first utterance of : “It is not I, but Marduk, who speaks the incantation.” And from then on the system is sealed and readied for use by the Mardukite devotee. Consider the lines in this conjuration, adapted from the Mardukite “Conjuration of the Fire God”:
It is not I, but Marduk, Slayer of Serpents, Who summons thee.
It is not I, but Enki, Father of Magicians, Who calls thee here now.
As described, the ritual34 operates as if from the perspective of NABU (speaking for MARDUK). Though variations exist across the opening lines of several Assyrian “exorcisms,” one key tablet example – translated by R.C. Thompson as his “Tablet N” for “Devils and Evil Spirits of Babylonia” (1903) – relates:
The Priest of E.A. [Enki] am I.
The priest of Damkina [Ninki] am I.
The messenger [Nabu] of Marduk am I.
My spell is the spell of E.A [Enki].
My incantation is the incantation of Marduk.
The ‘magic circle’ of EA [Enki] is in my hand.
The tamarask, in my hand, I hold.
From the modernized Mardukite version:
I am the Priest of Marduk, Son of Our Father, Enki.
I am the Priest of Eridu and the Magician of Babylon.
The Assyrian version continues humbly as follows:
EA [Enki], King of the Deep see me favorably.
I, the magician, am thy slave.
March thou on my right hand, assist me on my left;
Add thy pure spell to mine.
Add thy pure voice to mine.
O god that blesses me, Marduk,
Let me be blessed, wherever my path rests.
Thy power, shall god and man proclaim.
And I too, the magician, thy slave.
Returning to a an older version, transliterated by E.A. Budge for “Babylonian Life & History” (1883), we see a different method used toward petitioning the “younger pantheon” to the side of the priest.
I am the Priest of EA [Enki].
I am the Magician of Eridu.
Shammash [Samas] is before me.
Sin [Nanna] is behind me.
Nergal is at my right hand.
Ninurta is at my left hand.
And to this, the Mardukite version appends:
Anu, above me, King of Heaven.
Enki, below me, King of the Deep.
The power [blood] of Marduk is within me.
It is not I, but Marduk, who performs the incantation.
The priest mystically sheds the ‘mortal spark, even if for a moment, to experience the transcendental magic clad in godhood. Rising on the planes of perceptual awareness – as a god, speaking on behalf of the chief of the pantheon – the priest-magician is now able to influence worldly affairs in the original and most direct magical means known on the planet – a direct interface with the gods as one of their own…
