15 YEARS OF MARDUKITES — A MODERN LEGACY

Although Mardukite Ministries (Mardukite Research Org. / Mardukite Truth Seeker Press) launched in 2008, the actual inception of a functional organization or group directed by mystic philosopher Joshua Free — originally known as the Mardukite Chamberlains (Council of Nabu-Tutu / Ordo Nabu Maerdechai) — occurred in early 2009 during the Akiti Spring Babylonian New Year; and soon after, observed its first official global synchronized ritual observance for Beltane 2009.

Fifteen years later, in 2024, the original Mardukite Research Org. still continues today (a legacy now maintained by The Joshua Free Imprint / JFI Publications). The main Org. has since evolved into two separate but interconnected traditions: Mardukite Zuism (Mesopotamian Neopaganism) and the Mardukite Systemology Society (New Standard Systemology). Starting in 2020, all development and distribution of official material has been overseen by the Mardukite Academy of Systemology.

ORIGINAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE MARDUKITE “NECRONOMICON” AND “ANUNNAKI BIBLE”

The Spring 2009 inception of the Research Org. sparked a pattern of treating “research phases” (or “years“) on a March-to-March calendar basis. A decision to develop the “Mardukite Core” (of literary materials) as a “cycle” of NECRONOMICON work was unanimously agreed with by the original Chamberlains — all of which were esoteric practitioners that were previously familiar with a Babylonian-Anunnaki-Mardukite motif (from an occult perspective) as a result of the spiritually lackluster and academically incomplete 1977 Simon Necronomicon.

The first installment of the “cycle” duplicated material used during the 2009 Beltane Gate “cementing” of a modern “Mardukite” tradition (or paradigm) in human consciousness. (The very fact that you are reading this now, in 2024 or later, is evidence that the original intention has endured.)

A limited release (Lapis Edition) of the first installment — known simply as Liber-N, or the 1st Edition of the “Necronomicon by Joshua Free” — became available to underground members of the Mardukite Chamberlains on the 2009 Summer Solstice, exactly one year after the original launch of the Mardukite movement (with the 2008 publication of Arcanum).

Additional developments for inclusion in the “Core” (“cycle“) arrived throughout the 2009 summer and autumn — providing for limited printings of Liber-L and Liber-G installments.

A limited commercial hardcover publication featuring all of Liber-N, along with early portions of Liber-L, was arranged by Joshua Free with Tracy R. Twyman’s publishing company as the 2nd Edition of the “Necronomicon by Joshua Free.” This marked the first Mardukite material commercially available to the general public (starting in August 2009). It would take another decade — upon its 10th Anniversary (in 2019) — for a significantly revised and more complete edition to commercially appear again in hardcover (as Necronomicon: The Anunnaki Bible).

The completed “Year-1” “Mardukite Core” was combined together for the first time in early 2010 — as the 3rd Edition (with a limited underground release as the title “Necronomicon Anunnaki Bible“). It contained Liber-N, Liber-L, Liber-G, and Liber-9, as well as supplemental articles. By the end of 2010, a 4th Edition was prepared for wider public distribution (the first “Anunnaki Bible” to commercially appear in print).

Several new installments of the “Mardukite Core” appeared during Mardukite R&D “Year-2” (2010) and “Year-3” (2011). Only some of this newer material was officially incorporated into the “Necronomicon Anunnaki Bible” for its 5th Edition (published in 2012). This included the Tablet-W series first published as Book of Marduk by Nabu (now also available as Anunnaki Prayers); and English translations of the Tablet-M series that first appeared in The Maqlu Ritual Book (and now also available as Anunnaki Rites).

By 2014, a new Tablet-S series (“Book of Sajaha/Shayaha the Seer“) had been translated and integrated into the “Core” — which appeared in the 6th Edition release. This marked the final addition to the Mardukite Tablet-Series Catalogue to fully complete the originally intended “Anunnaki Bible” project. From this point onward, the main body of the Mardukite “Necronomicon Anunnaki Bible” changed little, although an additional decade would be spent continuing to revise and perfect the cornerstone volume.

Although a necessary foundation to work from, completion of the Year-1 (2009) work proved to be only a beginning for the Route that would build and carry a global underground spiritual movement now, into the 2020’s and beyond, with a revitalized “religious brand” as “Mardukite Zuism” and its very effective Systemology of applied spiritual technology.

This included “Liber-50” (released as “Sumerian Religion” and “The Gates of the Necronomicon”), “Liber-W” (“The Book of Marduk by Nabu”) and “Liber-M” (“The Maqlu Ritual Book”)—all of which have been reissued as 10th Anniversary Collector’s Hardcovers in commemoration of “The Founding Church of Mardukite Zuism.”

However, the actual series conclusion appeared in early 2011, with “Liber-51” and “Liber-E” — now united for the first time in this special combined Mardukite Academy 10th Anniversary Collector’s Edition in Joshua Free’s newly revised title:

Since the first installments started coming together in 2009, the ANUNNAKI BIBLE by Joshua Free has remained the primary staple of the modern “Mardukite” tradition of Mesopotamian Neopaganism and even beyond into the field of “New Thought” with its advanced “Systemology.” The ANUNNAKI BIBLE has seen many variations and editions, expanding into a complete source book of esoteric Ancient Near Eastern archaeology and even more recently abridged and arranged to provide a fresh approach and standard for global “Zuism” with a new “Mardukite Zuist” edition.

“The Complete Anunnaki Bible” for our tradition, is composed of what took many many discourses—many individual booklets that were developed in the Mardukite Chamberlains, the Research Organization—and eventually compiled into a “Bible,” a complete “Bible.”

Most of the material was developed in 2009. There were several editions and revisions and so forth, which were added over the next few years after that to round this out. And originally, it wasn’t really an A-to-Z presentation of the (tablet) material; but as each of the cycles or series of tablets were designated as, like, “Tablet-A” or “Tablet-B Series” and so forth, the current editions of “The Complete Anunnaki Bible” and “Necronomicon: The Anunnaki BIble” both basically give these in sequence as they’re relayed in that catalogue.

It’s only been as a result of this “New Standard Edition” for the Zuist religion—this “Anunnaki Bible: New Standard Zuist Edition”—that is an abridgment, where I’ve actually reorganized the sequence of tablets to be more chronological, as if you were reading, for example, the way “Old Testament Bible” of Judeo-Christian scripture is laid out…

Deep Roots of Modern Mesopotamian Neopaganism; Origins of Mardukite Zuism from 2008 Publications

While the efforts of “Mardukite Zuism” have become public over the past year, many are unaware that origins of this brand of “Mesopotamian Neopaganism” were first presented officially in 2009, embedded within various works by Joshua Free. Even this vision, along with the premise for “NexGen Systemology” were all presented quite blatantly to those within his inner circle, starting in 2008. In fact, if one were to investigate some of the more advanced applications and suggestions for the “Crystal Dawn” presented in the 1990’s while still writing as “Merlyn Stone” (and contained within the appendix of the most recent edition of The Sorcerer’s Handbook), one will eventually realize that this was the planned direction of things all along… and now realized in 2020 as the result of a quarter-of-a-century underground journey culminated by this 25th Silver Anniversary of the Joshua Free’s public presentations and underground involvement.

As with any tradition, system, methodology or brand of new age NewSpeak, the “Mardukites” and its “Systemology” has come up against its share of scrutiny, biased reviews and blatant attacks over the past 12 years–and we have survived, working now–right this moment–to secure a permanent foundation for the organization and headquarters only 11 miles southwest of our existing Mardukite Babylon Ancient Astronomy Primitive Reserch Center and Preserve. It is important for us to make note of this, because those who are otherwise unfamiliar with our work may simply be googling or looking at news articles, which at the time of writing this blog are all focused around the events and politics surrounding “Icelandic Zuism” and the “Zuist Church of Iceland” of which we, as the Church of Mardukite Zuism, have no official ties with–in fact there have been no communications at all between the two groups. Perhaps the only thing that associates the two together is that they are bother referred to as “Zuism” or “Zuist” traditions and emphasize an interest in Mesopotamian Neopaganism; although, as we would expect, the Icelandic Zuists are essentially a neo-Sumerian interpretation of a potential modern Anunnaki religion in contrast to our Mardukite Babylonian one. In either case, there is much evidence to suggest that the Icelandic Zuist tradition does not have much longer to go as an official organization–its leadership already usurped once and most of its focus on the national “tax” laws regarding religion in Iceland. Most of the information to be found outside of “Mardukite Zuism” including popular pdfs on “Zuist Doctrines” &tc. are actually not issued by the Zuist Churches and instead have been developed by independent practitioners that work to support their own denominations of “Zuism.”

When we look back through the contents of the Mardukite Esoteric Library by Joshua Free, it is easy to find early traces of real substance on which the latest developments of “Mardukite Zuism” and Systemology have all stemmed from… some dating back to the original writings collected for the Mardukite Research Organization (Mardukite Chamberlains) in 2009 and which appeared in the introductory material for the original Anunnaki Bible by Joshua Free, particularly as found in the anthology known as “NECRONOMICON: THE ANUNNAKI BIBLE” or “THE COMPLETE ANUNNAKI BIBLE” published by the Joshua Free Imprint.

Elsewhere in Joshua Free’s “Introduction” to the NECRONOMICON ANUNNAKI BIBLE or COMPLETE ANUNNAKI BIBLE (and NECRONOMICON: THE COMPLETE ANUNNAKI LEGACY) we read:

Whenever you affirm: “I am…” and add “something” – this is a form of “enslavement to consciousness.” The true “I-of-Self” is not restricted to any conception of “persona-personality-programming” that you have “experienced” in the surface reality or world.
