New Babylon Rises as Beltane Blossoms Bloom at Mardukite Borsippa HQ

Each year, since the inception of the modern Mardukite movement, our organization continues to observe the culturally-hybrid gate-festival of May’s Eve, Beltane or Bealtaine. For over a decade, beginning in 2009, hundreds of practitioners from around the globe have unified and synchronized their “meditations” “workings” and “directed intentions” to not only the acknowledgment of support toward the ancient legacy we represent, but also its continuation.

In 2020, the primary intention emphasized relocation of a more permanent U.S. HQ from the original Mardukite Babylonia site to elsewhere within San Luis Valley — our HQ is intended not only for our research library, but also the publishing office of the Joshua Free Imprint, a counseling center and future chapel for The Founding Church of Mardukite Zuism & Systemology Society. (Additionally, elsewhere in the world, David Zibert placed intentions on collaborating for a French-Canadian branch of the Mardukite Chamberlains, a Mardukite Zuist Temple and Systemological Society. He has been consistently providing French translations of our material for several years.)

HAPPY BELTANE from
Mardukite Borsippa HQ
San Luis Valley

Here we are a year later and the May Blossoms are blooming here on the Apricot tree for Beltane over at the new Mardukite Borsippa HQ.

Apricot trees are one of many species that blossom around the end of April, providing natural philosophers and other more earth-oriented folk with observably indicating Beltane and the turning of the Wheel of the Year. This festival was once an annual staple of other mystical traditions and religions throughout ancient Europe, made especially popular by the Celtic Druids.

The May Pole, long reduced academically to little more than a phallic symbol, actually is representative of the World Tree, or else the Gateway between all Worlds — all Universes.

Beltane 2021 also commemorates six months or turning point since Samhain 2021 and the completed realization of the Mardukite Academy of Systemology — a grand unification of all work by Joshua Free since 1995 into a precise methodology of study and practice traversing three “Grades” — referred to as the “Master Grades” composed of:
–“The Route of Magick and Mysticism” (Grade I, Route A)
–“The Route of Druidism and the Dragon Legacy” (Grade I, Route D)
–“The Route of Mesopotamian Mystery Tradition” (Grade-II) and finally
–“The Route of Mardukite Systemology” (Grade III).

In order to ensure proper duplication of understanding intended by this unification of work — and proper preparation for future higher “Wizard Grades” (IV, V, VI, VII) — Joshua Free candidly and concisely delivered an unrehearsed 48-lecture series live and in person at Borsippa HQ to solidly establish the core of the Mardukite Academy. This series of now legendary lectures, along with all of its supportive materials, is officially known and distributed now as The Complete Mardukite Master Course, available in its entirety for the first time today — in recognition of Beltane 2021 — in both AUDIO and TRANSCRIPT format.

Babylonian New Year, Akiti (Akitu) Spring Equinox Festival of Ancient Mardukite Zuism

The Processional Way in Ancient Babylon for the New Years Akiti / Akitu (Zagmuk) Festival

The spring season is always a magical time of year, associated closely with potentials of new beginnings and the breath of new life that is inherently found throughout the natural world.

The cycle of action is in full “create” mode, and all of the planning and goals of the forthcoming year are set forth; seeds planted in the fertile soils and just waiting for the nurturing necessary to bring all potential into being–to bring manifestation into fruition.

Necronomicon: The Complete Anunnaki Legacy (Hardcover) by Joshua Free

“Necronomicon: The Complete Anunnaki Legacy” (Hardcover, nearly 1000 page Master Edition)

Many treat the month of March, and specifically the Spring Equinox (always observed esoterically as March 21), as a traditional starting point for the ‘Circle of the Year’ or annual ‘Solar Wheel’, not to mention the start of “cosmic time” as reflected by the ‘Sign of Aries’ in the traditional zodiac.

In honor of this special season and the tenth anniversary of a completed ‘Mardukite Core’ (the Grade-II materials of the Mardukite Chamberlains/Mardukite Research Organization collected from 2009 through 2019) the Joshua Free Publishing Imprint is proud to present a near-1000 page hardcover master edition of NECRONOMICON: THE COMPLETE ANUNNAKI LEGACY for March 2020!

READ THE COMPLETE ANUNNAKI LEGACY BY JOSHUA FREE

“The A.KI.TI Festival was marked by the start of what we call the “zodiacal wheel,” approximately March 21 or the Spring Equinox… The Tablets of MARDUK would be read publicly by priests at MARDUK’s Festival of A.KI.TI (or Sumerian Zagmuk) when the Sun enters Aries at the Spring Equinox (March 21)… Sumerians called the Euphrates, BUR.AN.UN and it was also known as “Perath” or PU.RA.TU. The 1,800 mile long river begins to rise in late March, just about the time of the Spring Equinox, recognized as the start of the annual Zodiacal Wheel and also the famous A.KI.TI New Year Festival… The Babylonian observation of the annual (solar) year starts with the ‘Mardukite’ observation of Zagmuk—meaning ‘the beginning of the year’ or ‘new year’. This 12-day festival is fixed to arrange its height at the beginning of the month of Nissanu, the ‘Spring Equinox’ or March 21st, also coinciding with the beginning of the astrological wheel, when the sun enters Aries…” –excerpting various materials collected within NECRONOMICON: THE COMPLETE ANUNNAKI LEGACY, which includes all materials found in previous anthologies of the ‘Mardukite Core’, including Necronomicon: The Anunnaki Bible, Gates of the Necronomicon and Necronomicon Grimoire.

Although materials, exercises, history lessons and esoteric training that supports the full scope of the ‘Mardukite Zuist Tradition’ may be found within the complete ‘Mardukite Core’, many modern Mardukites, Mardukite Zuists and traditional (ceremonial observing) Mardukite Systemologists have all come to appreciate the beloved 10th Anniversary Collector’s Edition portable hardcover of THE COMPLETE BOOK OF MARDUK BY NABU, our original pocket devotional companion to Anunnaki Prayers and Rituals following the ancient Babylonian (Mardukite Mesopotamian) tradition. This concise handbook for practitioners of Mesopotamian Neopaganism in the Mardukite tradition is invaluable at this time of year, specifically because it includes all of the traditional rituals, meditations, invocations and astral exercises used for modern Mardukite observations of the SPRING AKITI festival of the March Equinox and the traditional global MARDUK-GATE BELTANE operations of April 30.

The Complete Book of Marduk by Nabu (Hardcover 10th Anniversary Collector’s Edition) Joshua Free Publishing Imprint

“In ancient Babylon, the New Year Festival was the central most religio-political “Mardukite” event marking the beginning of the annual cycle. At that time in “celestial history,” the spring equinox observation of Akitu (or Akiti) coincided with the sun entering the “Aries” zone, the zodiacal sign of Marduk. This spring festival symbolized not only agricultural fertility and renewal of the land on earth, but also a restatement or reinforcement of the national position of Marduk and his role in the universe.

“The Akkadian name for the final day of the festival—Akiti or Akitu—translates roughly to “On Earth, Life.” Most scholars usually only recognize the “agricultural” significance and not necessarily the “political” and “mystical” functions of the observation. True, the Akitu festival took place twelve days before the annual crops were planted—but, this large public national “celebration” also reconfirmed supremacy of Marduk and the Babylonian Pantheon, making it the single most important ancient “holiday” for the Mardukite tradition.”

–excerpting Liber-51/52, found within THE SUMERIAN LEGACY, the GATES OF THE NECRONOMICON anthology and the omnibus mega-anthology NECRONOMICON: THE COMPLETE ANUNNAKI LEGACY

Babylonian New Year Festival, “Book of Marduk by Nabu” 10th Anniversary Pocket Hardcover

“In ancient Babylon, the New Year Festival was the central most religio-political ‘Mardukite’ event marking the beginning of the annual cycle.”—observed throughout the world as the start of the Spring season—this March 21, 2019 is distinguished as the 10th Anniversary of the first modern Mardukite revival observation of the Babylonian New Year Festival, the start of a powerful turn of the ‘Wheel of the Year’ leading up to the infamous “Beltane Gate” May’s Eve Festival of the modern “Mardukite Necronomicon Tradition”—also planned as a global ritual meditation working this year!

At the time in “celestial history” when the original Mardukite tradition in Babylon was systematized, the spring equinox observation of Akitu (or Akiti) coincided with the sun entering the “Aries” zone—the zodiacal sign of Marduk. This spring festival symbolized not only agricultural fertility and renewal of the land on earth, but also a restatement or reinforcement of the national position of Marduk and his role in the universe.

To coincide with this incredible 10th Anniversary milestone in the evolution of the modern “Mardukite” paradigm of Mesopotamian Anunnaki Revival—the Joshua Free publishing imprint representing the Mardukite Truth Seeker Press has authorized a special March 21 release of the 10th Anniversary hardcover: THE COMPLETE BOOK OF MARDUK BY NABU: A POCKET ANUNNAKI DEVOTIONAL COMPANION TO BABYLONIAN PRAYERS & RITUALS—A collector’s edition of the long-lost translated cuneiform tablet collection, revealing secret underground methods to acquire direct communication with what some call “alien intelligences” via a program of ancient-styled Babylonian-inspired devotion, reviving the same techniques as ancient Mardukite priests of the Sumerian Anunnaki in Mesopotamia.

[This book may be used to assist annual personal observation of the Spring Akiti/Akitu or Zagmuk Babylonian Festival and the Mardukite Beltane Gate ritual meditation work, with additional advice for daily rites throughout the year.]

The Akkadian name for the final day of the festival—Akiti or Akitu—translates roughly to “On Earth, Life.” Most scholars usually only recognize the “agricultural” significance and not necessarily the “political” and “mystical” functions of the observation. True, the Akitu festival took place twelve days before the annual crops were planted—but, this large public national “celebration” also reconfirmed supremacy of Marduk and his position in the Babylonian Anunnaki Pantheon, making it the single most important ancient “holiday” for the Mardukite tradition.

This amazing new 10th Anniversary collector’s edition of THE COMPLETE BOOK OF MARDUK BY NABU reflects a very real modern philosophical and meta-spiritual “New Thought” movement aligned specifically with the Anunnaki paradigm. In ancient Babylon, this was famously celebrated among the followers of Marduk—recognized among the pantheon as patron of Babylon city and self-made Anunnaki “King of the Gods” for the “Mardukite” or “Babylonian” branch of the Mesopotamian mythos, with the assistance of the Nabu priesthood of scribes. In commemoration of the anniversary release of a “complete” BOOK OF MARDUK BY NABU, additional portions once released separately as The Book of Zagmuk by Nabu are also included, detailing the annual Spring Equinox Festival or Babylonian “Akiti”/”Akitu” New Year Rituals

After a time of gods had come and gone, the priests and kings continued to observe these ceremonial customs using representative “images” or statuary to symbolized the “divine presence” of Marduk and Nabu as they made a procession each year through the streets of Babylon. Each of the twelve festival days begins at dawn. The High Priest of the “Temple of Marduk”—the E.SAGILA or “House of Marduk”—goes and prepares the temple and other ceremonial areas before dawn, then makes a “general invocation” to Marduk, before the “image” (statue) of the god in his shrine…

Mardukite Research Organization & Publishing Group : 2016 Year-in-Review | New Babylon Rising eZine

NBRheaderSMALLnotuse

MARDUKITE YEAR-8 (2016) proved monumental in furthering the work of the Mardukite Research Organization and distribution of Mardukite Truth Seeker Press titles all over the world!

cybervampscollectionsmall Following the revolutionary CyberVamps debut volume in 2015, THE VAMPYRE’S BIBLE, the Beltane 2016 release of CYBERNOMICON completely reevaluated the complimentary synchronicity of the complete works of modern mystic and hybrid messenger Joshua Free — whether dubbed “Mardukite” or “CyberVamp” or “Systemology,” (etc.) the bigger picture for our times has become clearer than ever before!

pherlytcoll23 Continuing the widely anticipated and highly controversial Books of Fferyllt series first introduced with volume one of the BOOK OF PHERYLLT in 2014 with an emphasis on the “Dragon” in history, magic and human consciousness, Pheryllt neodruid initiate Joshua Free provided the second installment BOOK OF PHERYLLT in time for Samhain 2016. It emphasizes the secrets of “Tree Ogham” and herbalism in druid tradition. (Both the CYBERNOMICON and PHERYLLT VOL 2 were first published as limited edition hardcovers for Mardukite Chamberlains prior to paperback release.)

2016reissuecollectionsmall As it turned out, 2016 was a banner year for “Anniversary Editions” commissioned by the Mardukite Truth Seeker Press commemorating long-standing underground occult classics developed by Joshua Free, dating back to his years writing under the name “Merlyn Stone” in the 1990s.

DRACONOMICON, first published underground in 1996 for the Mystics of the Earth (Draconic Celtic Lodge of Druids) celebrates its 20TH ANNIVERSARY this year! This original classic by neodruid Joshua Free predated the authors more recent official work with New Forest Centre of Douglas Monroe and the Books of Pheryllt literary series.

JOSHUA FREE’s unpublished manuscript titled “Applied Druidology” in 2001 served as reference material for later works including “Book of Elven-Faerie” and “Arcanum.” It appeared underground under the title “Druidry” in 2012 and has now been re-released to the general public for its 15TH ANNIVERSARY edition as the THE BOOK OF DRUIDRY, complimenting a growing line of pocket eco-editions from the Mardukite Publishing Group.

BoZthumbcvr In addition to the CyberVamps and Pheryllt Druid paradigms, the Mardukite-specific work from Mesopotamia also saw restoration this year, including a new 5TH ANNIVERSARY pocket eco-edition of the ceremonial guide to the Babylonian Akitu New Year Festival in the BOOK OF ZAGMUK BY NABU. Furthermore, a new edition of the “Book of Sajaha the Seer” reappeared as the LOST BOOK OF SHAYAHA.

Plans are still being developed for the National Mardukite NexGenCon scheduled for the August 2017 eclipse at Carhenge, Nebraska following a Wizards of the Wasteland spiritual retreat in the South Dakota Badlands.

Secrets of the Anunnaki & The Origins of Babylon

Secrets of the Anunnaki & The Origins of Babylon

MESOPOTAMIAN RELIGION gets a face lift!

The most critically acclaimed and bestselling materials from the Mardukite Research Organization now available in one volume!

SearchingREGthumb Last year, the Mardukite Truth Seeker Press released new updated eco-editions of two of our most critically acclaimed and widely distributed materials — SUMERIAN RELIGION (Liber 50) and BABYLONIAN MYTH & MAGIC (Liber 51) later revised and expanded as SUMERIAN TRADITION (Liber 51/52). Previous editions of these materials were arranged for the classic anthology MESOPOTAMIAN RELIGION (Liber 50,51/52) and the latest updated eco-editions are now available for the first time in one volume as SEARCHING THE SANDS OF TIME by Joshua Free, with original foreword by Sortileges.

A master compilation of mythological and religious exploration into the heart of the ancient Mesopotamian Mysteries, this easy-to-read post-modern anthology illuminates the ancient world using revolutionary teachings and source materials of the modern Mardukite Chamberlains (Mardukite Research Organization) and edited by Joshua Free, the presiding Nabu of the administration since its inception.

SearchingREGthumb Keeping with the familiar cover photo that has always represented these important materials since being introduced to the public FIVE YEARS ago — SEARCHING THE SANDS OF TIME is a highly innovative and accessible ‘academic edition’ of the Mardukite Chamberlains “Year-2” research and development, including the complete text from two installments: “Sumerian Religion: Secrets of the Anunnaki & The Origins of Babylon” (Liber 50) & “Sumerian Tradition: Secrets of the Anunnaki in Babylonian Mythology” (Liber 51/52) in one incredible compilation!

Arriving on the surface world from the underground – an amazing insight into the Anunnaki ‘alien gods’ and the establishment of human civilization famously accounted by the Sumerian and Babylonian traditions. Prolific writer, Joshua Free, presents this topic such as the modern world has never before had access to, developed from the revolutionary work conducted by the next generation of Seekers actively using a revival Anunnaki tradition in the present day.

SEARCHING THE SANDS OF TIME is not merely the presentation of dry academic renderings of obscure tablets; this book will take you on a progressive journey that is just as relevant and critical today as it was thousands of years ago! Uncover the mysteries that lay hidden in ancient Sumer, with a message so relevant today, it is no wonder it became the greatest kept secret of Babylon!

EQUI-NIGHT, ZAGMUK NIGHT

EQUI-NIGHT, ZAGMUK NIGHT

March 20-21st is traditionally observed in both ancient and New Age traditions as a celebration of the new Spring Season — marked by the passage of the Sun into the astronomical domain of Aries and heralding the phenomenon known as the EQUINOX, a point in the year when the duration of night and day are even or equal. This also happens in the Autumn Fall Season — however it is the Spring Equinox that carries the most significant historical and spiritual parallels to what we associate with the Spring Season even today. In ancient Sumer and Babylon, this time is called ZAGMUK or AKITU (Akiti) — coinciding with the Holy Week of modern Easter observances…

Mardukite New Year Rituals of Ancient Babylonian Akiti / Akitu Spring Equinox Festival

The Processional Way in Ancient Babylon for the New Years Akiti / Akitu (Zagmuk) Festival

The Processional Way of MARDUK and NABU in Ancient Babylon for the New Years Akiti / Akitu (Zagmuk) Festival

THE BOOK OF ZAGMUK (available in Babylonian Magick, Wizards of the Wastelands or the Ceremonial Color Edition) is the Official Mardukite-Anunnaki companion to the Babylonian New Year Festival, known as Akitu (Akiti) or Zagmuk, originally available exclusively to the modern Mardukite Research Organization and Mardukite Chamberlains.

Deluxe Color Edition

Deluxe Color Edition

THE BOOK OF ZAGMUK BY NABU (forthcoming as a pocket companion) is a specially prepared ceremonial text with selected ‘tablet collections’ that combine materials from the Mardukite Wizards of the Wastelands in conjunction with critical excerpts from Joshua Free’s NECRONOMICON ANUNNAKI BIBLE, essentially comprising the internal methods of the ‘Order of Nabu‘ to establish Mardukite ‘religious’ continuity in Babylon and MARDUK’s royal legitimacy at the height of the Babylonian pantheon using the Babylonian New Year Festival, Akitu (Akiti) or Zagmuk.

zagakitu

“The Babylonian observation of the annual (solar) year starts with the ‘Mardukite’ observation of ‘zagmuk’ – meaning ‘the beginning of the year’ or ‘new year’. This 12-day festival is fixed to arrange its height at the beginning of the month of Nissanu, the ‘Spring Equinox’ or March 21st, also coinciding with the beginning of the astrological wheel, when the sun enters Aries.” The Book of Zagmuk by Nabu

zagmuk

The festival is significant for its contributions toward solidifying both the religious and political paradigms of ‘Mardukite’ Babylon. The festival is also known by its Sumerian-derived Akkadian name – A.KI.TI or A.KI.TU – meaning ‘On Earth, Life’. This large public festival observance is a reconfirmation of the supremacy of MARDUK and the Babylonian Pantheon and is probably the single most important ancient ‘holiday’ for the tradition.

BabylonianMagickCSpbCVRcrop After the time of gods had come and gone, the priests and kings continued to observe the ceremonial customs using representative statuary to symbolized the ‘divine’ forms of Marduk and Nabu as they make a procession through the streets of Babylon and are placed in the temples to witness a dramatic reenactment of the Enuma Elis and other rites and rituals that commemorate the ‘Mardukite’ tradition (paradigm) and seal the position of the priests and king as the ‘chosen’ ambassadors and intermediaries between the ‘gods’ of heaven and the people of earth.

Babylonian Astrology & Age of Aquarius: How the Sumerians Measured the Heavens

10514761_482280898571526_123244564401630173_n2

“The ancient Sumerians understood the connection between cycles, time and mathematics. In addition to the pragmatic use of the wheel or circle, they also developed the initial calculations of the circle to be 360 degrees. Their use of base-60 ‘sexagesimal’ math in the systematic measurement of time has carried with humanity to this day…”

MesopotamianReligionFrontcrop The annual year was originally only divided into three seasons: beginning, middle and end. A year in Babylonia was separated into a cycle of 12 periods of 30 degrees or days. These periods, equated to the ‘moon’, were called ‘moonths’ or more appropriately ‘months’. Of course, the sky-wise priests were aware of the actual appearance of 13 lunar cycles in a year, so an additional shortened month was acknowledged to make the cycle fit. In most cases, a ‘new moon’ meant a ‘new month’ and so the days counted in a month are the days counted in the progression of a moon – though naturally the disparities between lunar and solar time had to be accounted for, and with time the ‘Chaldeans’ had perfected it.

cuneisdgsdg The annual cycle was marked distinctly by two primary religious festivals – the spring festival of Akitu and the winter festival of Zagmuk. Both appear to be represented or distinguished by the symbol of ‘divine marriage’, later meaning the relationship between the ruling king and his lands.

Originally, however, the more popular fertility interpretation of these festivals, particularly in the spring, were based on land renewal and with the development and spread of these tradition, Akitu became known as Ostara – the pagan Easter – in dedication to Ishtar (Inanna). Not too surprisingly, the pre-Christian account incorporated into the symbolism of the later Judeo-based traditions also includes the proverbial theme of resurrection – in our case: the infamous story of Ishtar’s ‘descent‘ into the ‘Underworld’, where she is perceived of as ‘dead’ for three days.

vlcsnap-2011-08-13-21h32m43s221 Given the way modern calendars are oriented, the start of each ancient month would be considered near the ‘middle’ of current months – much like the seasonal observations. Although the festivals in ancient times were oriented to the naturally occurring solstices and equinoxes, it was often customary to observe them ceremonially during the closest full moon. All of this gave way to a generally ‘fluid’ incorporation of time into society that is varied in its interpretations among modern scholars.

The ancients made use of ‘water-clocks’ at night and ‘sun-clocks’ during the day. But more important to the survival of an agricultural society then gauging the minutes of a day for a ‘time-punch’ was the tracking of the annual cycle for planting and harvesting. Quite different than what the remainder of the Western World has familiarity with, the seasonal cycles in the deserts of Babylonia are unique. We have a recognizable summer in June, July and August where there is not rain and nothing grows – as we might expect – but then the region is plunged right into its rainy season in September, and farmers must be ready to plant their barley by October with a harvest necessary before the summer sun returns.

Gates3rdEdfrontcropMINI A different system of observation was used to calculate and measure ‘divine time’ in relation to ‘earth time’. This gave rise to what contemporaries call an ‘age’ – such as the current ‘age’ of Pisces and the forthcoming ‘age’ of Aquarius. Apart from the garbled nonsense of today’s horoscopes, the observation of zodiacal ages and alignments during the year are very real events. For whatever credibility the modern mind might wish to give the ancient astrologie omen tablets, the ability to perfectly chart time over long periods by using verifiable astronomical events, that we can even rely on today as investigators into this ancient culture, is quite impressive by any standards.

We can establish the chronological procession of the ages, but not necessarily a definition of when they have absolute turning points. They are measured in 2,160 year periods (72 x 30), connected to their ‘domain’ of visibility in the ‘Celestial Sphere’. The progression is visible in the stars but the clear boundary line that defines each is in many ways obscure. For example, when specifically does the current age enter ‘Aquarius’? Counting backward, the Mardukite school of thought might have suggestive input to apply.

259202494_2439cd36a1_o2 Following earlier thwarted attempts to solidify global rulership, the real Babylonian Reformation by the Anunnaki god MARDUK, with the aid of Nabu, occurred as a result of the ‘Age of Aries’ having arrived and ‘promised power’ not being ‘passed’ to him. This would have to be circa 2150 B.C., when the movement became notably public.

How long prior to this, pointing to the turn of the ‘Age of Aries’, would they have waited? If it were only ten years, then the Piscean Age really would have been marked by the birth of Jesus Christ – exactly 2,160 years later – notoriously represented by the fishes. Other ‘scholarly’ dates for the start of the Age of Aries include 2200, 2150, 2000 and 1875 B.C. Based on these figures, this ‘era’ of reportedly ‘new consciousness’ could be in effect now, later in this century, in the year 2150 or even closer to 2600…

Time, as we have found no different today then yesterday, is indeed entirely relative!

Marduk, Anunnaki god of Babylon, Son of Enki, Father of Nabu in Mardukite Tradition

mesopotamianmagicheadline

MARDUK — “The blatant industrious and expansive power of Jupiter has been placed at the height of most ‘Sky God’ Olympian pantheons as Zeus or a similar figure. The name (Jupiter) comes from the Romans: Dys Pater, meaning Father-God. This energetic current commands outright worldly success as well as the magic of spirits: command of the hierarchies…

BabylonianMagickCSpbCVRcrop This portion of the mardukite.com blog post is extracted from the “Book of Marduk by Nabu” (Liber W) also available in the recent commemorative “Babylonian Magick” anthology by Joshua Free.

NABU SPEAKS: “The Elder Gods originally attributed this position to Enlil in Sumer. I personally heralded my father, Marduk, into Enlilship of the “younger pantheon” in Babylon. Our tradition there, and in Egypt, was wholly based on him being the centralized figure. You may invoke my father for his strength and power, as well as a petitioner to the Elder Gods. He is exalted as the Master of Magicians, carrying the mysteries of my grandfather, Enki, to Babylon, and bestowing the traditions upon me to relay.” (Liber W)

bookofmardukthumb “The original designation of Jupiter is 50, the number attributed first to Enlil and later to Marduk by the Babylonians, who first was given the number 10. The color of the current is purple, but also airy and fiery colors (yellow, orange, black). This energy is preferred by many leaders and law enforcing folk, lending to those who are pure to receive it, the power to command the material world.” (Liber W)

“Marduk was proclaimed King of the Gods, replacing Enlil, and the other gods were required to pledge allegiance to him and to come to reside in Babylon where their activities could be easily supervised. This usurpation of Enlilship was accompanied by an extensive Babylonian effort to forge the ancient texts. The most important texts were rewritten and altered so as to make Marduk appear as the Lord of the Heavens, the Creator…”
Zecharia Sitchin, The Twelfth Planet (1976)

MesopotamianReligionFrontcrop The name Marduk is actually a modernization taken from the Semitic “meri-dug” [Merodach]. The oldest version of a similar spelling AMAR.UTU [a.mar-utu.ki = “light of the sun on earth”] often translated by contemporaries as “solar calf” or “son of the sun” give some background to Marduk’s esteem. (Liber 50)

zar
Being the foremost son of Enki, he gained power quickly. The Semitic name “Maerdechai” that came from the Chaldeo-Babylonian [silik-mul.u-khi] name meaning “Marduk is God.” The more common MAR.DUG means “son
of the pure mound,” and is thought to be connected to the pyramids in not only Mesopotamia, but in Egypt, where he raised himself as the leader of a third party (interpretation) of gods – the Egyptian Pantheon – as “Amon-Ra,” [and possibly also Horus] again identifying himself with the “solar” current.

cuneisdgsdg Marduk’s decision to raise himself to a monotheistic-like “God” status created new political issues for the Anunnaki on Earth – creating a reason for there to be tensions between the two lineages (of Enki and Enlil) for supremacy on earth (and the right to install their own lineages and chosen humans as kings in their stead).

THE RACE OF MARDUK…

Naturally, the other Anunnaki were less than appreciative of Marduk’s desire to rule over them, although the Age of Aries, his sign, did come and go and he was not left to his own in Babylon (or in Egypt). This seems to have been a disciplinarian act by the other gods.

babel98769878 Assuming the most common interpretation, Marduk was to lose rights of kingship “in heaven” for the taking of a “human” wife instead of his betrothed half-sister Inanna Ishtar. His argument was that Sarpanit (his consort) was a descendent of Adapa [see the Necronomicon Anunnaki
Bible
], and thus of Anunnaki bloodline; that Ishtar was no more interested in the union than he was, and it had not affected her rise to power; and finally, if not “in heaven,” why not “on earth”? The resulting catastrophes in the Middle East are evidence enough that this betrothal did not occur peacefully.

A MARDUKITE LEGACY BORN

In Assyrian accounts, Marduk, as the great “father-god” Assur or Ashur [“Ashshur”], seems to emerge as if from nowhere, leading some scholars in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s to consider the idea of Marduk being a fictitious figure imagined into being for purely political reasons.

Sarpanit [also Sarapan or Zarpanitu] is mentioned often in Babylonian prayer but does not appear in any of the significant mythic tablet cycles. She achieves an elevated status by her relationship with Marduk, and together, they are the parents of Nabu. At the spring equinox “A.KI.TI” festival she is the “spring-maiden” of fertility festivals in Babylon…

Modern Assyriology: Exploring the Ancient Near East – Understanding the Babylonian Paradigm

Iraqi Freedom

While many folk are familiar with and taught traditional knowledge and lore of the “classic era” of the Romans and Greeks, with occasional ventures into pop-culture mythologies of Egyptians, it seems that little or no attention is given to the source of all this: the Mesopotamian region and the Middle East…

MesopotamianReligionFrontcrop [This mardukite.com blog post is officially excerpted from the essay “Toward a New Babylonian Vision” by Joshua Free, first appearing in 2009 Ruby Edition of Liber L and reappearing as one of the introductory prefaces for the Mardukite Research Organization core sourcebook anthology: Necronomicon – The Anunnaki Bible, now in its sixth edition!]

…But, What is even more counter-productive for the Western world, politics with current world leaders and sects from those regions clouds the ability of the ego to accept anything from them. And what’s more, being that the traditions are pre-Christian in origin and agricultural or “earth-oriented,” they are subject to the same negative stereotypes that contemporary folk associate with any and all things considered “heathen” or “pagan” and really without just-cause.

Babylon2 It is important to understand that the study of this lore and observation of diverse traditions are not restricted to a particular region or culture, they simply seem to originate from a specific source, as did human civilization as a whole. With the spread of the human race followed the spread of the tradition which seemed to take on new forms and colors as it passed from generation to generation across the expanse of the planet.

Life-giving powers and their symbolic representations also appear to have been influenced by time and geography. While the sanctity of the “Sacred Fire” and the flame become apparent in the traditions and systems of the west and north, the people who originated the traditions more closely to the planetary equator more closely identify with the Waters of Life, most closely identified with ENKI (or PTAH in the Egyptian Tradition).

MesopotamianThumb The name Mesopotamia literally means: between or midway of two rivers, referring to the Euphrates and the Tigris, but the sacredness of water does not end here, as we can see that all the originating cultures that we can still identify or connect the source tradition to (non-nomadic) emerged or cultivated around key waterways: the Indus River Valley, the Nile, the Danube (Rhune/Rhine) and
even the Amazon.

The Sumerians called the Euphrates, BUR.AN.UN and it was also known as “Perath” or PU.RA.TU. The 1,800 mile long river begins to rise in late March, just about the time of the Spring Equinox, recognized as the start of the annual Zodiacal Wheel and also the famous A.KI.TI New Year Festival. The Tigris, known as I.DI.IK.LAT and ID.IG.NA (and called the “Serpent River” by some Arab sects) is somewhat shorter at only 1,150 miles and begins to rise at the opposite half of the year, usually coinciding with the Autumn Equinox.

cuneisdgsdg According to historical geologists, the flow of the Euphrates has actually moved westward with age and there is actually more land in Babylonia at present than during ancient times given the shrinking of the Persian Gulf (by 72 feet per year). The fertile alluvial soil in southern Babylonia created a distinct environment by contrast to the northern regions of Mesopotamia. Even the Babylonian region was divided between southern SUMER and northern AKKAD (Agade).

Each of the city-states was originally ruled by its own “Patesi” until eventually the battle for supremacy resulted in a unification of the two lands (as similarly occurred later in Egypt) under a single “King of Sumer and Akkad”, eventually known as the LUGAL or “Great Man”. The esteem of this position also included a mention in the “Book of Kings” [Tablet K] and local government was watched over by priest-kings who adhered to a “Book of the Law” [Tablet L] of which the Code of Hammurabi was largely based on…
