Using Ancient Mesopotamian Religion to Reshape Modern Wiccan Tradition

** NEW RELEASE **
BABYLONIAN WICCA
(A Practical Beginner’s Guide):
Using Ancient Mesopotamian Religion to Reshape Modern Wiccan Tradition
A collected works anthology featuring works by Joshua Free and Kyra Kaos
Edited by Rowen Gardner

“Babylonian Wicca: A Practical Beginner’s Guide” provides everything someone needs to establish their own personal Babylonian Wiccan tradition-either as a solitary practitioner, or with others in a group. Experienced Wiccans will, of course, have the option of simply accenting and enhancing their own preexisting tradition. However, this book is appropriate for introducing the entire subject of Wicca and Mesopotamian Religion to a newcomer, or a beginner, that is still just starting to explore these subjects for the first time.

This special collected works “Babylonian Wicca” anthology premier edition combines three underground classics edited together in one volume for the first time:

Sumerian Religion: Introducing the Anunnaki Gods of Mesopotamian Neopaganism by Joshua Free;

Priestess of Babylon: An Account of Ancient Mesopotamian Religion From a Modern-Day Practitioner by Kyra Kaos writing with Joshua Free; and

The Witch’s Handbook: A Complete Grimoire of Witchcraft (The Book of Shadows) by Joshua Free writing as Merlyn Stone.

There is no expectation that a reader of “Babylonian Wicca” is already familiar with the subjects contained-whether the “Anunnaki” deities, the “land between the rivers” in the Ancient Near East, or the structure of modern “Wiccan” tradition. It is in this sequence that Rowen Gardner edits together the data for this anthology:

— starting with “Sumerian Religion” to introduce the Anunnaki pantheon of Sumerians and Babylonians;

— then “Priestess of Babylon” to describe beliefs and practices as they originally appeared in ancient Mesopotamia;

— and finally, “The Witch’s Handbook” where we see how the Old Ways evolved into a formula useful for crafting modern traditions of paganism.

The lore contained within “Babylonian Wicca” drawn from Ancient Near Eastern cuneiform tablets, the original native writings on planet Earth describing the actions and attributes of their deities. This Anunnaki pantheon is quite special to the ancient world and quite far-reaching; because it influenced the nature of other later emerging “celestial” mythologies thereafter and the entire structure of understanding “gods” and “goddesses” in the very first historical civilizations.

Mesopotamia is also unique its union (or absence) of Divine “sex/gender” characteristics. We find both a god and goddess (as a “Divine Couple”) representing aspects like the Moon and Sun, rather than polarizing them. This is just one of the many major implications when developing modern “Babylonian Wicca” traditions for the New Age.

After nearly a decade of anticipation, the long-lost “Liber P1” manuscript is finally published — making Priestess of Babylon: An Account of Ancient Mesopotamian Religion by a Modern-Day Practitioner the first new addition to the ‘Mardukite Core‘ in ten years! It is also the literary debut from Kyra Kaos, a long-standing Mardukite Admin, writing with Joshua Free. (This material is also available as a pocket-sized paperback for the ‘New Standard Zuist Edition‘ series under the title Anunnaki Priestess: Inside a Babylonian Temple.)

“Priestess of Babylon: An Account of Ancient Mesopotamian Religion From a Modern-Day Practitioner” (Mardukite Liber-P1) by Kyra Kaos writing with Joshua Free (hardcover premiere collector’s edition)

Understanding the Anunnaki Bible for Mardukite Akiti Babylonian New Year 2021

Various “Anunnaki Bible” editions from the Joshua Free Imprint

Since the first installments started coming together in 2009, the ANUNNAKI BIBLE by Joshua Free has remained the primary staple of the modern “Mardukite” tradition of Mesopotamian Neopaganism and even beyond into the field of “New Thought” with its advanced “Systemology.” The ANUNNAKI BIBLE has seen many variations and editions, expanding into a complete source book of esoteric Ancient Near Eastern archaeology and even more recently abridged and arranged to provide a fresh approach and standard for global “Zuism” with a new “Mardukite Zuist” edition.

For the 2021 Babylonian New Year Akiti (Akitu) Festival, the Founding Church of Mardukite Zuism (Mardukite Ministries) in conjunction with the Joshua Free Imprint (publishing company) has arranged for the release of the latest formats available for the ANUNNAKI BIBLE — specifically for those involved with Mardukite Zuism, Mardukite Systemology and/or have sought specific editions of our work with the word “Necronomicon” absent from the front cover title! This means that pocket paperback editions of the ANUNNAKI BIBLE: NEW STANDARD ZUIST EDITION (in addition to the premiere hardcover edition) and new deluxe oversized hardcover printings of THE COMPLETE ANUNNAKI BIBLE: A SOURCE BOOK OF ESOTERIC ARCHAEOLOGY (in addition to the original paperback) will be in print and in time for the Spring Equinox, March 2021.

The ANUNNAKI BIBLE developed from work conducted over a decade ago by Joshua Free, when he led the Mardukite Research Organization on a special project, first referred to as the “Mardukite Necronomicon” and then eventually as NECRONOMICON: THE ANUNNAKI BIBLE — still in print from its release two years ago as a 10th Anniversary Collector’s Edition hardcover. Even just the title “Necronomicon” caused the project to receive heavy scrutiny and semantic skepticism by many in the underground — and yet those who actually looked into the incredible work being conducted by the modern Mardukites would discover that the Keys were very real, very close to “home” and very relevant to the state of our world… and a new spiritual movement began to pervade in the “New Age.”

Joshua Free recently explained the entire background, development and contents of the ANUNNAKI BIBLE, even dedicating an entire lecture of the MARDUKITE MASTER COURSE to it so as to make certain Seekers fully understood what the “Mardukite Tablet Catalogue” is composed of and how it came to be collected as such. The lecture, “Lecture-32” of the MARDUKITE MASTER COURSE, was given on September 25, 2020 for the Mardukite Academy of Systemology; released on Volume-Eight of the Audio-CD presentation — and also available in transcript format in THE COMPLETE MARDUKITE MASTER COURSE 850 page over-sized hardcover volume set for release on Beltane 2021, April 30.

As Joshua Free explains in the MARDUKITE MASTER COURSE:

“The Complete Anunnaki Bible” for our tradition, is composed of what took many many discourses—many individual booklets that were developed in the Mardukite Chamberlains, the Research Organization—and eventually compiled into a “Bible,” a complete “Bible.

Most of the material was developed in 2009. There were several editions and revisions and so forth, which were added over the next few years after that to round this out. And originally, it wasn’t really an A-to-Z presentation of the (tablet) material; but as each of the cycles or series of tablets were designated as, like, “Tablet-A” or “Tablet-B Series” and so forth, the current editions of “The Complete Anunnaki Bible” and “Necronomicon: The Anunnaki BIble” both basically give these in sequence as they’re relayed in that catalogue.

It’s only been as a result of this “New Standard Edition” for the Zuist religion—this “Anunnaki Bible: New Standard Zuist Edition”—that is an abridgment, where I’ve actually reorganized the sequence of tablets to be more chronological, as if you were reading, for example, the way “Old Testament Bible” of Judeo-Christian scripture is laid out…
